Aadhya
There’s a famous saying that goes by, ‘If you tell a person that you will go through anything for them, just because you love them—they will literally put you through everything just to prove a point.
The cruel illusion of love snatches critical thinking from the most intelligent brains and I had learned that long ago.
When I first set foot in this place I didn’t know Veer was here—swear, I didn’t.
Well I can’t say that I haven’t stalked him for the past four years, because… I have.
But that time when I bumped into him it wasn’t intentional but now that he is in my radar I will not let him walk away from me again.
“You know when I saw you bump into Colonel Singhania, I thought you wouldn’t make it out alive.” Anushka said, arranging the files on the table.
“Why so?” I spinneda file lazily on my index finger.
“You know he is a mad man and you are an innocent girl.” She answered.
“You think I am innocent?” I asked, amused.
“Think? I believe.”
Interesting.
Very interesting.
“Well forgot to inform you we have a meeting to attend in fifteen minutes.” She passed me a polite smile before walking out with a stack of files in her hand.
Meeting, ugh…what a tough life.
After she left, I locked the door from inside and started digging through the files on the shelf.
God what the fuck, why isn’t that file here?
My eyes widened as the realisation dawned into me.
In Veer’s office? It can be there.
I need to figure out something fast. I don't have much time left.
I put everything back in place before opening the door making sure no one found anything suspicious.
The meeting didn’t feel boring and how’d it, my eye candy was also present there in that meeting and the whole time my eyes were fixed on him.
If he would’ve sat beside me then my hand would’ve had a time of its life.
What a pity.
I almost forgot that I have to figure out a way to get that damn file.
“Aadhya I think Colonel Singhania has a grudge against you.” Anushka whispered.
“Is it? And how’d you figure that out?” I asked.
“Didn’t you notice how he was looking at you throughout the meeting?”
“Well I am here to work, not to satisfy some fragile ego of a Colonel.” I murmured, typing away on my laptop.
“Well you know, I have heard that he has killed countless women who have thrown themselves on him over the years.” She leaned against the chair in front of me whispering it like a state secret.
“Have you personally seen him doing that?” I asked, still typing.
“No” He answered with a sad expression.
“Then you should not believe everything you hear, didn’t they teach you in training?” I took a slow sip of my coffee.
I didn’t say that because I think he is incapable of doing so, I knew better than anyone about the things he’s capable of, I’ve seen it all live.
But can’t let anyone tarnish the image he’d bled to make.
I looked at Anushka when she stopped talking out of nowhere, her eyes were fixed somewhere behind me, I followed her gaze and my eyes ended up meeting Veer’s beautiful dark brown eyes.
“Out.” His eyes were fixed on me but the command was for Anushka, who escorted the room as fast as she could.
After she left he closed the door behind him clicking the lock in place and closed the distance between us in four long strides.
His fingers closed around my wrist as he pulled me on my feet.
I smiled looking at him, “Nice way to greet, Colonel.” I teased.
He closed his eyes for a second taking a deep breath before opening them, his eyes were colder now.
“You yourself killed your father right?” His eyes widened in shock because he wasn’t expecting me of all people to know his darkest secret.
His hand left my wrist as he grabbed my neck pushing me against the wall, his grip was tight—not tight enough to be called choking.
“How do you know?” He hissed.
I just smiled at him.
“You know you could’ve gotten so much information from him.” His grip on my throat loosen just for a second before tightening again.
“He was playing with my patience.”
“So will you let the secret stay a secret forever.”
He choked me, I coughed.
“Kill me and you will lose any chances of finding out what happened to your brother.” I choked the words out and he pulled his hand back as I slid down the wall.
Coughing and laughing.
He crouched in front of me , “How do you know about my brother?”
“You don’t need to know.” I said inspecting my neck in my phone’s camera, the bastard had left marks.
“You know what happened to him?” His voice softened.
“I do. Not exactly but I can find out everything.”
“Really?” Hope flickered into his eyes.
“But, I want your help.”
“What help tell me?”
“A classified file, that only you can hand me.” I let that settle.
“W-What file?”
“Right now I have work to do, I’ll tell you later.” I said forwarding my phone with the keypad open toward him, he raised an eyebrow.
“Your number.”
He typed his number on my phone and then left, I stood up.
Digged through my stuff in my back and fished out my concealer.
Opened the camera on my laptop and then applied it on my neck concealing the finger marks.
Well everything aside but,
He looked so hot while choking me.
“Are you okay?” Anushka rushed in checking me for any injury.
“Don’t worry I am fine.” I assured her.
“What did he say?”
“Nothing special and I don’t take men seriously anyway.” I said brushing off her concern.
She sighed, finally getting that I don’t want to talk about this matter and sat on her own desk deciding to not push me further.
I shook my head and resumed typing like nothing happened when I was again disturbed but another new intern who’d come to serve along with me.
Zainab, she’s so loud that I want to kill her just for breathing.
“Hey, what are your plans after work?”
“Nothing special.” Anushka answered first,
“And what about you?” She asked me.”
“Sleep.” Of course I’d need that after getting almost choked to death by the love of my life.
“You guys, I know this amazing club. Let's go there, we will have a lot of fun.” Zainab insisted.
“Yeah, Aadhya let’s go na.” Anushka joined.
“Which club?”
“Kinetix” That, grabbed my attention and I finally looked her way.
“Fine,” I agreed, nodding.

The club was loud—too loud, not the kind of place I like. We sat in a private lounge, drinks on the table , three women dancing in front of us.
“I didn’t know you guys were into girls.” I said pouring myself a drink.
“Come let’s dance.” Anushka offered me her hand and I just shook my head.
She shrugged her shoulders and she and Zainab went to dance while a girl—one of the dancers, wearing an outfit that barely covered anything, women exploitation for entertainment again.
She came and sat on my lap, encircling her arms around my neck leaning in to kiss me, I detected that, and before her lips could touch mine I placed the glass between us halting her movements.
I then pushed her off my lap causing her to fall, then I stood up and walked out.
Because I wasn’t here for fun I was here for something else.
I entered one of the private spaces of the club, which was only known by the red card holders.
The atmosphere was quieter here, unlike the club’s loud lights this place was darker.
“Welcome boss.”
“Any updates Roger”
He just shook his head in reply.
“Stay in contact with me.” I said before walking out.
And I spotted Veer at the end of the hallway. His eyes were red and filled with tears.
Shit.
I started walking towards him and he started walking away, his steps were fast and furious.
“Veer, it's not like what you think, let me explain.” I shouted at his back but he didn’t even slow down.
I increased my speed and grabbed his wrist, pressing him into the wall.
“Let me go.” He tried to push me but his attempts were futile.
“Let me explain.” I clenched my jaw.
“No.”
I slammed my lips over his, and he froze, his fingers curling into the collar of my jacket and for a second he almost kissed me back.
But then he was snapped back into his senses and bit down hard on my lower lip forcing me to pull back.
I licked my lower lip and the taste of iron filled my mouth.
I leaned in, sucking the blood off his lower lip.
“Now will you let me explain?” I asked and a tear slid down his eyes, his lips trembled.
“Y-You kissed me with the same mouth you kissed her.” His voice shook.
Ahh so he saw me.
“I didn’t kiss her.”
“You did.”
I closed my eyes exhaling through my mouth before I fished out my phone and dialed a contact.
“Roger, send me the CCTV footage from private room number 180.” I hung up without letting him reply.
My focus was back on Veer, “Are you jealous, love?” I asked, amused.
“Why would I be?” He diverted his gaze from me.
Before I could go on further, my phone buzzed, I opened the video and turned the screen towards him.
The footage showed that I didn’t kiss her and also pushed her off my lap.
His eyes widened at the realisation.
He looked guilty before he masked it.
“Doesn’t matter, you still let her touch you.” He sounded pouty.
I huffed out a laugh before I grabbed
his fist which was still curled into my collar. I kissed his knuckle before pulling it away from my jacket.
Then I removed the jacket and threw it on the floor.
“Any more complaints? Love.”
